Queer-run brewery Closet Brewing teams up with RPG Taverns to release Dungeons & Dragons-inspired beer
RPG Taverns, London’s immersive Dungeons & Dragons‑themed bar and community hub, has partnered with Edinburgh's queer-run nano‑brewery Closet Brewing to release Tabletop, a limited-edition beer inspired by the iconic roleplaying game.
The 3.2% table beer has been designed as a light, refreshing and highly sessionable drink - ideal for D&D sessions that can stretch well beyond three hours. Tabletop is available across the UK while stocks last and celebrates the shared ethos of creativity, inclusivity and fun at the heart of both businesses.
The can artwork was created by Orion, a queer, neurodivergent and trans designer and tattoo artist based in Edinburgh. A lifelong D&D fan known for their illustrations of “weird little creatures”, Orion embraced the chance to depict a “biblically accurate D20” for the label.
Closet Brewing, run by two queer women and their small dog, has earned a following for its vegan beers and playful brewing style. RPG Taverns, located in Elephant & Castle, has become one of London’s most distinctive social spaces, blending fantasy settings with real-world connection through D&D and tabletop gaming.

“I’ve been playing Dungeons & Dragons and other tabletop RPGs since I was a kid, and I’m a massive fan of the community RPG Taverns are building in London,” said Lucy Stevens, Head Brewer and Director at Closet Brewing. “They’ve supported us since the early days of Closet, so we leapt at the chance to work together - not just on creating a great, super-sessionable beer, but also the opportunity to run a one-of-a-kind D&D adventure. At its heart, this collaboration is about doing cool things and having a lot of fun, which is absolutely at the core of our mission.”
Josh Saco, co-owner of RPG Taverns, added: “RPG Taverns has always been about bringing people together around the table, whether that’s through storytelling, dice‑rolling or just sharing a drink. Collaborating with Closet Brewing felt like a natural fit; they’re creative, share many of our values around community, and aren’t afraid to do things differently. I’m really happy to bring Tabletop to our own community and celebrate the joy of boardgames together.”
