Pride in Education launches webinars to support LGBTQ+ history in schools
Pride in Education has announced a new programme of free professional development webinars aimed at helping educators build confidence and clarity around LGBTQ+ inclusion in the classroom. The sessions will run during LGBTQ+ History Month in February 2026 and Trans+ History Week from 4–10 May 2026.
The organisation, which continues to campaign for clear, evidence-based guidance to protect LGBTQ+ young people, says the webinars are designed to address the uncertainty and anxiety that many educators have experienced in recent years. Alongside its advocacy work, Pride in Education is placing emphasis on practical support that enables teachers to embed inclusive practice meaningfully and confidently.
Two new webinars will be offered:
Usualising LGBTQ+ Identities in Secondary School Science and Maths
13 February 2026, 4–5pm
Register HERE
Aligned with the LGBTQ+ History Month 2026 theme of Science and Innovation, this session will explore how LGBTQ+ identities, scientists, and lived experiences can be thoughtfully integrated into secondary science and maths curricula. The webinar will offer strategies for making inclusion a routine part of teaching rather than an occasional “add‑on”, with an emphasis on both curriculum content and student wellbeing.
Bringing Trans+ Histories to Life in Your Classroom
13 March 2026, 4–5pm
Register HERE
This session will help educators transform trans+ histories into engaging, age‑appropriate classroom learning. Attendees will examine key figures, movements and historical moments while developing creative approaches to celebrating Trans+ contributions. The webinar will also offer guidance on addressing challenges or resistance in a confident, informed way.
Together, the sessions aim to support schools in moving beyond tokenistic gestures toward the meaningful integration of LGBTQ+ experiences across the curriculum.
Pride in Education is a non‑incorporated association working with educators in the UK and internationally to embed LGBTQ+ perspectives across all areas of teaching and learning.
