Marlborough Productions, a catalyst for queer culture and community, has been awarded funding totalling £240,000 across three years from Paul Hamlyn Foundation’s Arts Access and Participation Fund, which aims to support change in the way the arts are created, presented, accessed and experienced by addressing inequalities of opportunity and access.
Paul Hamlyn Foundation’s support will enable Marlborough Productions to work with more artists through their unique care and access-centred commissioning model, and will allow them to grow their national network for New Queers on the Block. Crucially, it will also support some of Marlborough Productions’ core costs as they continue their mission to be a catalyst for queer culture and community at a local, national and international level.
Marlborough Productions’ Executive Director David Sheppeard and Creative Director Tarik Elmoutawakil said: “We are so grateful for what this support from Paul Hamlyn Foundation will allow us to make and do with LGBTQIA+ artists and communities across the UK. For the first time we will be able to plan longer term and think even more ambitiously.
“After a challenging few years, we have such an exciting year ahead, with a packed programme of events and projects from performance to heritage. We hope to see you there!”
