On Saturday, 19 July, Brighton will once again become a beacon of solidarity, protest and celebration as it hosts Trans Pride Brighton, the first and the largest Trans Pride event outside of America. Now in its twelfth year, the grassroots, volunteer-led movement continues to champion trans liberation, visibility, and community resilience.

The day begins at 11am with a gathering at Victoria Gardens, followed by speeches at 11.30am. At 12pm, the iconic Trans Pride March sets off, winding through the heart of Brighton in a powerful display of unity and resistance. An accessible route is also available, meeting at The Old Ship Hotel at 12.30pm, ensuring inclusivity for all attendees.

By 1pm, the march returns to Victoria Gardens, where the festivities truly begin. From Brighton Dome’s Trans Makers Market to community stalls at Dorset Gardens and New Steine Gardens, the event offers a vibrant mix of art, activism, and celebration. The daytime events conclude at 6.30pm, but the spirit of pride continues into the night with the Aziz Afterparty at North Lane Brewery, starting at 10pm.

This year’s Trans Pride Brighton is not just a celebration - it’s a protest. Organisers have made headlines by banning local Labour MPs, Chris Ward and Peter Kyle, from attending. The decision stems from their perceived failure to support trans youth during critical parliamentary debates and their endorsement of the controversial Cass Report. In a bold statement, Trans Pride Brighton reaffirmed its commitment to trans children, declaring: “Trans kids: You are loved. We will never stop fighting for you.”
