Olympic swimmer and LGBTQ+ activist Michael Gunning is to open Brighton’s very first Pride Swim – The Big Dip! at Brighton beach on Saturday, October 26 at 2pm next to Sea Lanes.
The Big Dip, sponsored by Speedo, will see up to 200 participants take a dip in the sea, all to raise vital funds for Switchboard LGBT Helpline.
Expect competitions for best ‘Prided up swimmers’ and there will be pre and post swim activities, including breathwork sessions, a pop-up sauna and a post-event celebration at Sea Lanes.

All participants will get a specially designed Speedo x Pride Swim swim cap, a medal and a Speedo goody bag.
The price to join is £10, with the opportunity to add an extra donation to Switchboard LGBT+ Helpline.

Scene was founded in Brighton in 1993, at a time when news stories about Pride protests were considered radical. Since then, Scene has remained proudly independent, building a platform for queer voices. Every subscription helps us to report on the stories that matter to LGBTQ+ people across the UK and beyond.
