Sam Greisman, son of Oscar-winning actress Sally Field, has publicly condemned former Kentucky county clerk Kim Davis following her renewed legal efforts to overturn same-sex marriage rights in the United States.
In a strongly worded post on X (formerly Twitter), Greisman referred to Davis as a “hideous bitch” after news broke that she had filed an appeal to the Supreme Court seeking to reverse the landmark 2015 ruling in Obergefell v. Hodges, which legalised same-sex marriage nationwide.

Davis, who gained notoriety in 2015 for refusing to issue marriage licences to same-sex couples due to her religious beliefs, is now challenging the constitutionality of that decision. Her legal team argues that the ruling was based on what they call the “legal fiction of substantive due process” and should be overturned.
Greisman, a film producer and openly gay advocate, expressed his outrage online, writing: “Not this hideous bitch again,” in response to headlines about Davis’ appeal. His comments have sparked widespread discussion, with many social media users echoing his sentiments and criticising Davis’ stance on marriage equality.

The controversy has reignited broader concerns about the future of LGBTQ+ rights in the US, especially amid ongoing political and legal challenges. Greisman’s mother, Sally Field, has long been a vocal supporter of LGBTQ+ rights, previously describing having a gay son as “one of the great privileges” of her life.
