Michael Pereira from Switzerland was crowned Mr Gay Europe 2025 at this year's Pride Amsterdam - an event which marked the conclusion of a journey that brought together twelve inspiring finalists from across Europe.

The finalists were hosted at the elegant Mövenpick Hotel Amsterdam and took part in a dynamic four-day programme designed to foster leadership and empowerment. Activities included a rigorous academic exam testing LGBTQ+ knowledge, personal one-on-one interviews with a professional jury, and a spirited team-based sport challenge held at Olympic Stadium Amsterdam.

They also participated in photoshoots at Sofitel Legend The Grand Amsterdam, a city tour, and enjoyed countless unforgettable shared moments. Each experience was carefully crafted to prepare the contestants as future changemakers within the European LGBTQ+ community.

“In a time when LGBTQ+ rights and freedoms are under pressure across Europe, this year’s edition of Mr Gay Europe couldn’t be more relevant,” said Bram Bierkens, Executive Producer of Mr Gay Europe 2025. He emphasised that the competition is not about perfection, but about purpose. The focus is on real voices, real stories, and real action.

With a refreshed identity, bold visuals, and a renewed emphasis on authenticity and connection, Mr Gay Europe enters a new chapter - one that is more visible, more engaged, and more inclusive than ever before.

Following a high-energy live finale, Michael Pereira was awarded the crown for his campaign Safe to Grow, which showcased courage, vision, and a deep personal commitment to LGBTQ+ rights and visibility. Michael will now serve as an ambassador for LGBTQ+ communities across Europe, taking part in international events, media appearances, and social and political conversations. His mission is to advocate for equality, speak up for the unheard, and help shape a more inclusive future.

Belgium’s Imran Nawaz impressed both jury and audience, earning a well-deserved second place, while Kadeem van de Pol from the Netherlands proudly took third place, demonstrating the strength and diversity of talent across the continent.
