MindOut, the LGBTQ+ mental health charity, will be running a ‘Self Advocacy Workshop for LGBTQI+ People of Colour‘ over Zoom on Thursday, August 25 from 2.30 – 4pm.
The workshop, which will be led by Malaika Fallah and Zamy Camus-Doughan, will cover speaking up for yourself, accessing services and knowing your rights, as well as building your self-esteem and looking after your mental health. There will be a specific focus on discrimination faced by queer and trans people of colour, and discussion around how to navigate instances of medical racism, transphobia, homophobia or Islamophobia.

Support independent LGBTQ+ journalism
Scene was founded in Brighton in 1993, at a time when news stories about Pride protests were considered radical. Since then, Scene has remained proudly independent, building a platform for queer voices. Every subscription helps us to report on the stories that matter to LGBTQ+ people across the UK and beyond.
Your support funds our journalists and contributes to Pride Community Foundation’s grant-making and policy work.
