Conservative media personality Megyn Kelly, a former Fox News presenter and anti-LGBTQ+ activist, has been criticised after saying “we want a strong man to rescue us” from the LA fires, not an “obese lesbian”.
The bizarre rant was made during an episode of the 54-year-old’s podcast, which focused on the fires currently causing destruction across Los Angeles.
Kelly, who namechecked LA Fire Chief Kristin Crowley, Deputy Chief Kristine Larson, and Chief Jaime Brown, said: “These three women who are at the top there are all — I mean, honestly, I’m not trying to be mean, but they’re, they’re obese,” Kelly said. “These are overweight, out of shape women.”
“The last thing I want to see if I am in a burning building is A, a woman, and B, an obese woman,” she went on. “Who takes comfort? ‘I’m going to die, but it’s in the presence of an obese lesbian‘. This is ridiculous.”
Kelly then added: “I speak for all women. I believe I speak for all females in Los Angeles when I say we want a strong man to rescue us. That’s what we want. Do we ask for too much?”
