Man wearing makeup harassed and threatened for using men’s bathroom in shocking viral video
A disturbing video has gone viral showing a gay influencer being harassed and threatened with violence for using a men’s bathroom on New Year’s Eve. The footage, which has been viewed more than 13 million times on TikTok, captures Zachary Willmore, an influencer who documents his life as a feminine gay man with HIV, calmly trying to defuse the situation as a man launches into a tirade of abuse.
The aggressor, later identified as Jaxon Terill, can be heard shouting misogynistic slurs and questioning Willmore’s right to use the facility, saying: “You wanna be a girl so bad”. At one point, he allegedly shook the stall door, escalating the intimidation.
Willmore, who was wearing glitter makeup and a belly-button ring, explained he had chosen a stall “because I didn’t want any problems”. Despite his calm response, the harassment continued until he left the restroom.
The incident has sparked outrage online, with LGBTQ+ advocates condemning the behaviour as “deeply troubling” and calling for greater education around gender expression and inclusivity. Terill has since issued a public apology, admitting his actions were “wrong and not OK”.
Campaigners stress that everyone has the right to feel safe in public spaces, regardless of appearance or identity. The Equality Act 2010 protects individuals from harassment based on sexual orientation and gender reassignment, yet this incident highlights the gap between legal protections and lived reality.
"They don't want transgender women - I'm not transgender by the way - they don't want transgender women to use the women's bathroom, they don't want a gay man to use the men's bathroom, so I've got to piss on the floor," Willmore said.
As Willmore remarked after the ordeal: “If more people got to know me, I think they’d like me.”
