Lisbon has been named the most LGBTQ+ friendly city in the world by Big 7 Travel, which has released its 2025 list of the most LGBTQ+ friendly cities in the world in time for Pride Month.

On the list, Dublin comes second while London is in fifth place.

The top 10 LGTBQ+ friendly cities in the world are:

  • Lisbon, Portugal;
  • Dublin, Ireland;
  • Porto, Portugal;
  • London, UK;
  • Madrid, Spain;
  • Berlin, Germany;
  • Amsterdam, Netherlands;
  • San Francisco, USA;
  • Toronto, Canada;
  • Sydney, Australia.

Big 7 Travel said these cities represent some of the most inclusive places on the planet right now.

The annual list ranks cities based on factors like legal protections, equality ratings, Pride celebrations, and the strength of their local LGBTQ+ scene.

Lisbon is currently hosting EuroPride, which is "an important statement of visibility, unity, and resilience" and culminates in a Pride Parade this Saturday.
