On Sunday, 5 May, the votes for the local by-elections and Sussex Police and Crime Commissioner election were counted and announced at the Brighton Centre. Kemptown by-election![]() Théresa Ann Mackey (Labour Party) has been elected as councillor for Kemptown.
The turnout in Kemptown was 34.8%. Queen’s Park by-election![]() Milla Gauge (Labour Party) has been elected as councillor for Queen’s Park.

Sussex Police and Crime Commissioner![]() Katy Bourne (Conservative Party) has been re-elected as Sussex Police and Crime Commissioner following an election on Thursday, 2 May. Ms Bourne was elected with a total of 122,495 votes across East Sussex, West Sussex and Brighton & Hove. Brighton & Hove City Council said: “Police and Crime Commissioners are elected every four years to ensure the policing needs of the community are met as effectively as possible and oversee how crime is tackled in your area.” For more information, CLICK HERE. |
