Irish LGBTQ+ charity ShoutOut launches plan to build a kinder Ireland for LGBTQ+ communities
Irish LGBTQ+ charity ShoutOut has launched its first-ever strategic plan, setting out a bold and inclusive vision for 2025–2027 aimed at building a kinder, more accepting Ireland for LGBTQ+ individuals.
Unveiled at a celebratory event in Dublin on Wednesday, 17 September the plan outlines ShoutOut’s commitment to expanding its reach across schools, workplaces, and communities nationwide. The charity, which has been promoting inclusion through education since 2012, will focus on fostering empathy, understanding, and allyship through its programmes and resources.
The strategic plan is anchored by seven key goals, divided into two pillars: programmes and resources. These goals are designed to deepen ShoutOut’s impact by enhancing its educational offerings and strengthening its support networks. The charity also plans to nurture a vibrant network of ambassadors and allies across Ireland, amplifying its message of inclusion and empowerment.
Executive Director Ruadhán Ó Críodáin spoke passionately at the launch, saying: “We’re excited to welcome more people - students, workers, and community members alike - into our shared mission. Through education, conversation, and small acts of allyship, each of us can contribute to meaningful change, building a society where everyone feels seen, supported, and celebrated.”

The plan, developed with the support of Rethink Ireland, also features personal stories from volunteers Humberto and Clara, reflecting the charity’s grassroots ethos. The document is beautifully illustrated by artists Sarah Moloney and Katelyn McKenna, adding a vibrant visual identity to ShoutOut’s message.
With a year-by-year breakdown of milestones and a clear roadmap for growth, ShoutOut’s strategic plan marks a significant step forward in its mission to end LGBTQ+ exclusion and promote a culture of acceptance across Ireland.
