Ahead of World AIDS Day, Impulse London will unite the community for an evening of remembrance and celebration at one of the capital’s most iconic LGBTQ+ venues, the Royal Vauxhall Tavern, on Sunday, 30 November.

The event, titled We Look Back, We Live On, promises a powerful mix of reflection and festivity. Beginning at 4.30pm, the night will open with a Red Light Vigil, offering space to honour those lost to HIV/AIDS and chemsex-related harm. The vigil will feature moving performances from the London Gay Men’s Chorus and heartfelt speeches from community voices, including people living with HIV and representatives from organisations such as Fast Track Cities.

As the evening progresses, the tone will shift towards celebration, recognising decades of progress in HIV treatment, prevention, and the fight against stigma. Guests can expect live performances, community-led talks, and opportunities to connect in solidarity. Impulse London has also partnered with Good Boi Candles to create a commemorative candle, with the first 100 attendees receiving one as a keepsake.

Chris Gunner, Acting President of Impulse London, said: “For World AIDS Day, we want to redefine the narrative around HIV and celebrate the strength and resilience of our amazing community. For decades, our community has been unstoppable when we have stood together.”

Entry to the event is free, but registration is encouraged via Eventbrite.
