Brighton & Hove Sea Serpents Rugby Football Club celebrates nine years of inclusive rugby

Brighton & Hove Sea Serpents RFC, Sussex’s first gay and inclusive rugby club, celebrated its ninth birthday in November.

Brighton & Hove Sea Serpents RFC is open to players of all abilities. believes in fostering an inclusive environment where everyone is welcome regardless of their gender identity or sexual orientation. The rugby club celebrates the courage it takes to be true to oneself, and embraces the unique strengths that each individual brings to the team.

The rugby club said: “Nine years ago, our club kicked off with a mission to create a safe, inclusive space for everyone to enjoy rugby. From a small group with big dreams, we’ve grown into a community filled with passion, resilience, and plenty of laughs on and off the pitch!

“Over the years, we’ve made a name for ourselves in Sussex and beyond, celebrating our victories, learning from our losses, and always cheering each other on. We’ve travelled for tournaments, hosted epic socials, and welcomed players from all walks of life. Together, we’ve built something truly special.

“Here’s to all the players, supporters, and friends who’ve been a part of this journey. Let’s keep pushing forward, making memories, and showing what inclusive rugby is all about!”
