October heralds the arrival of Black History Month in the UK, and to celebrate this important annual event, OUTflix has curated a special list of titles that celebrate and reflect the richness of Black queer experiences.
There are also a number of exciting new titles arriving on OUTflix throughout the month - a queer mystery stirs in the woods, Jackie Forster’s impact takes centre-stage, and the iconic Tiffany “New York” Pollard rules the castle in a wicked new competition. The October lineup is packed with thrills, chills, and plenty of queer power.
Premiering 8 October, Slayers: Wheel of Fate sees ten queer competitors thrown into a castle full of twists, tricks and plenty of camp chaos. With reality tv icon Tiffany “New York” Pollard running the show, expect big personalities, wild challenges, and more than a few surprises along the way.
Arriving 30 October, OUTSpoken: Jackie Forster is a short documentary about the life of a groundbreaking and outrageous LGBTQ+ rights campaigner, whose legacy has rarely been given the spotlight it deserves. One of Britain’s leading lesbian rights activists in the 1960s, Jackie Forster made history by running an underground donor sperm operation that helped the first queer women have children.
Finally on 31 October, just in time for Halloween, Eyes in the Woods arrives. This new scripted series follows two sisters who must face hard truths - and what lurks in the dark - when they spend a week at their woodland cabin. Inspired by the real-life unsolved mystery surrounding Ranger Station 76, this supernatural queer thriller is prime viewing for the scariest night of the year.
