Former Big Brother contestant George has broken his silence following his removal from the Big Brother House, after what producers described as the "repeated use of unacceptable language and behaviour".

The 23-year-old parish councillor and actor was booted from the ITV2 reality show earlier this week, with a spokesperson confirming: “George has been removed from the Big Brother House with immediate effect and will no longer participate in the programme.”

Now, speaking out for the first time since his removal, George has branded himself a "flag bearer of freedom of speech" - but admitted he may have taken things too far.

He told The Sun: "As a flag bearer of freedom of speech, I never hesitate to discuss and question any topic regardless of how contentious it may be.

"Sadly, the boundaries of what is deemed offensive are subjective, and I evidently went too far this time by crossing their line one too many times.

"It is a shame that specific debate could not be had and that it has had to end like this. Infamy, infamy, they’ve all got it in for me."

His exit came after a string of warnings issued by Big Brother, most of which were not aired due to broadcasting standards. However, one incident - broadcast during Monday’s episode - showed George mocking fellow housemate Sam Ashby during a game of Truth or Dare. He mimicked Sam’s speech and used limp wrist gestures, prompting immediate backlash from viewers and housemates alike.

In the Diary Room, Big Brother confronted George: “Do you understand how both your language and behaviour could be offensive to Sam, your Housemates and the viewing public?” George responded: “I have apologised. I don't want to make anyone feel like that, so I will be walking on eggshells around Sam from here on in.”
