A powerful and inventive drag show exploring family breakups, care, and the art of repair is hitting the road next spring. Fixing - created by Matt Miller and Peader Kirk - will tour venues across the UK from February - April 2026, inviting audiences to reflect on what it means to mend relationships in a fractured world.

The show began with a memory. When Matt was a child, their dad bought a classic car - a 1952 Sunbeam Talbot Mark II - with dreams of restoring it together. Those plans never materialised. The car sat untouched in a garage, while Matt’s father navigated the aftermath of a divorce. Now in their thirties, Matt wants to learn how to fix an engine and, in doing so, understand more about that time when life was breaking apart and father and child were closest.

But tackling this alone is a challenge - especially in a solo show. Enter Natalie Spanner, Matt’s drag alter-ego, who brings glamour, wit and a surprising knowledge of engines. Together, Matt and Natalie ask a profound question: in a world that feels increasingly broken, how do we repair ourselves and each other?

Fixing premiered at Newcastle’s Alphabetti Theatre last year and enjoyed a short autumn run in 2025. It marks the third full-length collaboration between Miller and Kirk and their first venture into drag performance. Known for blending deeply personal stories with wider social themes, the duo promise a production that is both entertaining and thought-provoking.

At its heart, Fixing is about maintenance - of cars, of relationships, of communities. Against a backdrop of global division and personal disconnection, the show sparks conversations about care, rupture and recovery.

The 2026 tour will visit venues including Storyhouse in Chester, Nottingham Playhouse, The Lowry in Salford, and Alphabetti Theatre in Newcastle, among others. Full listings and ticket links HERE
