In a dazzling announcement, Strictly Come Dancing has confirmed that drag performer and entertainer La Voix will be joining the 2025 series - marking a historic first for the main show.

La Voix becomes the seventh celebrity contestant revealed for this year’s glittering line-up. The news was unveiled on The Scott Mills Breakfast Show on BBC Radio 2, and has been met with widespread excitement and praise.

A seasoned performer, La Voix rose to prominence as a finalist on Britain’s Got Talent, and later wowed audiences on Queen of the Universe and ITV’s Queens For The Night. Most recently, she captured hearts as the runner-up on RuPaul’s Drag Race UK in 2024, earning four RuPeter Badges and becoming a fan favourite.

Her CV is as glittering as her wardrobe: she’s graced the silver screen in Absolutely Fabulous: The Movie, hosted her own live show La Voix Meets - interviewing icons like Dawn French and Joanna Lumley - and even performed for the Royal Family at their exclusive New Year’s Eve ball two years running.

Speaking about her upcoming Strictly debut, La Voix said: “I’ve performed for royalty, RuPaul and Simon Cowell, but nothing fills me with more excitement (and quite a bit of terror) than the thought of dancing in front of millions on live Saturday night TV.

"Strictly is a national institution and I can’t wait to get started. All that’s left to say is: good luck to my partner! Here’s hoping they can help me go from La Voix into La Danse.”

La Voix joins a diverse cast that includes TikTok star George ClarkeEastEnders actress Balvinder Sopal, reality TV personality Dani Dyer, actress Alex Kingston, football coach Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, and Gladiators star Harry Aikines-Aryeetey.

The 2025 series of Strictly Come Dancing is set to return to BBC One and BBC iPlayer this September.
