British-Chinese-Vietnamese drag sensation Sum Ting Wong is set to make a triumphant return to the Drag Race stage, this time representing the United Kingdom in the hotly anticipated new series, Drag Race Philippines: Slaysian Royale. Premiering on 13 August via WOW Presents Plus, the show promises to be a dazzling celebration of Asian drag excellence.
Sum Ting Wong, who made history as the first Asian queen on RuPaul’s Drag Race UK Season 1, is no stranger to breaking boundaries. Hailing from Birmingham, she quickly became a fan favourite thanks to her sharp wit, bold looks, and heartfelt performances. Now, she’s ready to bring her charisma, uniqueness, nerve, and talent to the Philippines, where she’ll compete against 11 other queens of Asian descent from across the Drag Race multiverse.
Slaysian Royale marks a new chapter in the Drag Race franchise, blending the format of vs. The World with a distinctly Asian flair. Contestants hail from eight countries, including Australia, Belgium, Canada, France, Thailand, the United States, and of course, the Philippines and the UK.
The series will be hosted by Filipino drag icon Paolo Ballesteros, with KaladKaren joining the judging panel.
The promo theme, Asian Warrior, sets the tone for a season that promises fierce competition, cultural pride, and unforgettable runway moments. Sum Ting Wong will be battling it out for a spot in the Slaysian Hall of Fame and a yet-to-be-revealed cash prize.
