'Drag Race Spain' star Marina to premiere documentary ‘Diosa’ in London

Marina, the Barcelona-based drag artist who rose to international prominence as a finalist of Drag Race Spain season two, will be in London on 16 February for an exclusive screening of Diosa ('Goddess'), a documentary that centres her journey with drag and gender identity as a non-binary person.

The screening will take place at The Garden Cinema as part of LGBTQ+ History Month, in an event presented by the Society of Spanish Researchers in the UK in collaboration with the Instituto Cervantes London. Marina will be joined by director Cyprien Clément-Delmas for a post-screening discussion and Q&A. Diosa marks Clément-Delmas’ feature-length directorial debut and has already been positioned as the next cult entry in contemporary queer cinema.

The film follows Marina - born Joan Galo - a central figure in Barcelona’s queer scene, as she navigates identity beyond the gender binary. Blending documentary, performance and personal archive, Diosa examines drag as both artistic practice and survival strategy, while unpacking family ties, self-definition and the contradictions of living between masculinity and femininity.

The London event will be the first international presentation of Diosa by Marina and Clément-Delmas. Until now, the film has screened exclusively on the festival circuit, premiering in the Official Selection of the Atlàntida Mallorca Film Fest 2024.

The screening takes place on 16 February at 6.10pm at The Garden Cinema (39–41 Parker Street, London). Tickets are on sale via the cinema’s website, priced at £15 (£12 for members). Seating is limited.
