The Sussex Beacon said: “Two years ago, we had our first meeting with Mike, the new ‘Guv’nor’ at The Sussex in Hove. It was to discuss an upcoming Marlene Dietrich tribute evening and a potential event involving one ‘Madame Spankie’.
“Numerous comedy nights and many drag nights later (with some other events and activities along the way), we were delighted to be able to present Mike and Lee (pictured) with a Certificate of Recognition, acknowledging and honouring their outstanding fundraising work. Since then, Mike and Lee, with their amazing team, have raised a massive amount in excess of £4,600 in aid of the Sussex Beacon!
“Our heartfelt thanks to them and, of course, to the incredibly loyal and generous customers of The Sussex. This incredible support truly makes a difference to our work, supporting and caring for people living with HIV across Sussex.”
