The Coast is Queer LGBTQ+ Literature Festival and Queer Heritage South are joining forces on Saturday, May 24 to present an interactive archiving workshop that celebrates the vibrant LGBTQ+ history of our city and beyond.
Inspired by a fascinating display of gay newspapers and lesbian pulp fiction, organisers will discuss the value of community archives in preserving often-overlooked narratives and explore the role of language, in and out of print, in shaping the queer archive.
You are invited to bring along print materials and other ephemera connected with queer history that you would like to share. In this hands-on workshop, you will be guided through the process of digitising and cataloguing the items that will then be preserved in the Queer Heritage South Digital Archive.
Part of Brighton Festival, this is a drop-in session from 2 – 5pm in Brighton Dome Founders Room and does not require pre-booking!
