From photographer and author Charles Moriarty comes Brock (Canvas bound hardcover; 144 pages), an intimate portrait of actor and bodybuilder Brock Yurich as he chases his dreams.

The book features more than 110 images taken over four years. In his third self-published monograph, Moriarty, who shot the iconic cover for Amy Winehouse’s debut album Frank, and who previously unveiled a unique and personal archive of material in X, now merges the concepts of his first two monographs into one.

This is a moment where we look briefly through a metaphorical window into a man’s life. The book is a distinct collection of work embodying Brock Yurich’s journey as he makes his film, Test, which he wrote the screenplay for. The book consists of shoots from 2021, 2024 and largely unseen work from 2025, as Charles joins Brock on the set of Test in Ohio, and journeys to California where Brock lives to take a more in depth look at his subject.

The book begins with an introduction by Moriarty that gives his audience a road map, and then the book launches into their first shoot together in 2021. Although mostly linear in its exposition, there are a few twists and turns. There is an interview with Brock by Paloma Garcia-Lee (West Side Story) who co-stars with Brock in Test. The photography is a mix of analogue, digital and polaroid, and stylistically it doesn’t settle either, this is documentary and fantasy. Lines are blurry in Brock, leaving you to wonder.
