Brighton & Hove is to host Various Voices 2030 after the city’s LGBTQ+ choirs – Actually Gay Men’s Chorus, Rainbow Chorus and Brighton Gay Men’s Chorus – came together to bid for the European LGBTQ+ choir festival.
Various Voices, which will take place in Brussels in 2026, takes place every four years in a different European city and uses the power of singing to foster a more welcoming world with greater inclusion and solidarity.
With choirs coming from 20+ countries, each has its own culture and pop-rock repertoire to discover. From joint performances to intimate concerts, there will be something for everyone to enjoy.
Announcing the news on social media, Actually Gay Men’s Chorus said: “We did it! Brighton has won a bid to host Various Voices in 2030!
“Thanks to hard work from our friends at Brighton Gay Men’s Chorus, Rainbow Chorus, and our own team, our wonderful city will host over 4,500 LGBTQ+ choral singers from all over the world to sing and celebrate.
“A big thank you to LEGATO Choirs for giving us the opportunity and to all who voted for Brighton!
