Brighton & Hove Pride has cancelled its upcoming Pride Dog Show – a staple of the city’s calendar – due to expected hot weather this weekend.
Organisers wrote on Instagram they had “regretfully” taken the decision for “health and safety reasons”.
“The weather is forecast to be extremely hot this weekend,” they said. “It’s not worth risking the health of our dogs.”
Th event, which was organised in partnership with Coastway vets and was due to take place in Preston Park, Brighton, promised something for dog owners and dog lovers alike, including awards in multiple categories, retail stalls, a dazzling doggy fashion show, and refreshments.
Pride has said that all contest entrants will be automatically refunded within the next few days.
