Brighton & Hove LGBT Switchboard to host LGBTQ+ Women Survivors Writing Workshop

Brighton & Hove LGBT Switchboard‘s domestic abuse project is to hold a FREE writing workshop in collaboration with LGBT Partnership on Friday, March 11 from 6pm, exploring the theme of recovery and a ‘return to normal’.

Whether you’re an avid poet, aspiring novelist or just want to connect with yourself through the power of words, you’re invited! Facilitated by Claire Murphy, this event is open to LGBTQ+ women who have experienced violence of any kind.

Note: This event is open to all LGBTQ people who self-define as women, including (if they wish) those with complex gender identities which include ‘woman’, and those who experience oppression as women.

No writing experience is necessary, simply the willingness to put pen (or pencil) to the page and to be open-minded as to what appears. Light refreshments provided.

Support independent LGBTQ+ journalism

Scene was founded in Brighton in 1993, at a time when news stories about Pride protests were considered radical.

Since then, Scene has remained proudly independent, building a platform for queer voices. Every subscription helps us to report on the stories that matter to LGBTQ+ people across the UK and beyond.

Your support funds our journalists and contributes to Pride Community Foundation’s grant-making and policy work.
