Brighton & Hove will mark World AIDS Day on Monday, 1 December with an evening of music, remembrance and solidarity. The city’s annual Candlelit Vigil at the AIDS Memorial in New Steine Gardens will begin the commemorations, offering a moment to reflect and honour those lost to HIV and AIDS.
Following the vigil, the community will gather at St Mary’s Church in Kemptown for a moving charity concert featuring some of Brighton’s most celebrated LGBTQ+ and community choirs. Actually Gay Men’s Chorus, Brighton Gay Men’s Chorus, Rainbow Chorus, Resound Male Voices and Brighton ROX Choir will join forces to fill the night with harmony and hope, sending a powerful message that love and community conquer stigma.

This year’s concert will raise funds for Lunch Positive, a Brighton-based charity that provides healthy meals, friendship and peer support to people living with or affected by HIV. The organisation works tirelessly to reduce isolation, build community and challenge stigma every day.
Doors open at 7pm, with the concert starting at 7.30pm. Tickets are priced at £14 and can be booked online. Organisers are encouraging everyone to come together for this moving tradition and stand united in hope, remembrance and song.
