Brighton Gay Men's Chorus announces Valentine's fundraiser at Komedia
Whether you’re loved up or lovelorn, the boys of Brighton Gay Men’s Chorus have a fundraising show to make your heart sing this Valentine’s weekend. Don’t Go Breaking My Heart is an intimate and heartfelt evening celebrating romance, longing, and a little heartbreak too. Taking place at 6.30pm on Sunday, 15 February at Komedia Brighton, the concert features a carefully curated programme of solos, duets, and small-group performances, offering audiences a more personal and reflective side of the chorus.

The evening will be hosted by the fabulous Lee Peart, fresh from Komedia’s queer & alternative comedy night Down the Hatch. With wit, and charm, Lee will guide audiences through a night designed to leave them feeling uplifted, connected, and ready to face whatever their (love) life brings.
Speaking about the event, Roxy Van Der Post, marketing and innovations manager for Komedia Brighton, says: “Everyone at Komedia loves the Brighton Gay Men's Chorus! They were our Charity Partner for Down the Hatch Comedy Club in 2025 and it's been a delight to bring our worlds together again for a fundraiser hosted by comedian Lee Peart.
"Last year's partnership has only strengthened our belief in the importance of singing & laughing together, having a safe space to express yourself, and finding belonging. We encourage all of Brighton to come along to this fundraiser; let's ensure the Brighton Gay Men's Chorus can represent our beautiful queer city on the international stage!"

Joe Paxton, artistic director of Brighton Gay Men’s Chorus, added: “This special fundraising concert gives our singers the chance to step forward individually and tell powerful, personal stories through music. It’s intimate and joyful, and it really showcases the heart of the chorus and the incredible talent we have within it.”
Beyond the romance, Don’t Go Breaking My Heart also has a vital purpose. The event will raise funds to support Brighton Gay Men’s Chorus as they prepare to travel to Europe to represent Brighton at the European LGBTQ+ choral festival Various Voices, taking place this year in Brussels.
Donations from the evening will support the chorus’s bursary fund, helping to ensure that no member faces financial barriers to taking part. Approximately 4,500 choristers from across the world will attend Various Voices, making it the most important date in any LGBTQ+ choir’s diary.
With audience support, the chorus aims to ensure that every member who wishes to attend can do so, regardless of their financial situation.
