Brighton Gay Men’s Chorus has announced that local HIV charity Lunch Positive is its new charity partner for the year ahead.
Lunch Positive is an award-winning grassroots organisation that provides accessible, engaging, and impactful community-led services for people living with HIV. Their mission is to ensure that everyone affected by HIV is valued, supported, and empowered to overcome the challenges they face – whether related to their health or broader life circumstances.
Run by an exceptional team of volunteers and helpers, Lunch Positive reaches and supports hundreds of people each year through services such as weekly HIV lunch clubs, peer-support groups, advice sessions, a food bank, home-outreach, an HIV befriending scheme, and social support initiatives. Their work helps combat isolation, stigma, and financial hardship, offering inclusive spaces built on compassion, understanding, and peer-led support.

Gary Pargeter, Director of Lunch Positive, said: “We are massively grateful to Brighton Gay Men’s Chorus for becoming their chosen charity this year. Our services are helping ever-growing numbers of people. The support we’re being given by Brighton Gay Men’s Chorus will have a profound effect on the services we provide, our community, supporting people who are often unreached and improving lives.
“Sharing values of community, togetherness, involvement and care for people at the heart of everything we do, we’re overjoyed at the generosity and support of Brighton Gay Men’s Chorus and very much looking forward to our connection over the year ahead.”
To launch this exciting partnership, Brighton Gay Men’s Chorus will be raising funds for Lunch Positive at its 20th Anniversary Concert, Retrospective, taking place on the 2 and 3 May at St George’s Church in Kemptown. Bucket donations will be collected during each performance, with all proceeds going directly to support Lunch Positive’s vital services.
The event also marks the opening weekend of the 20th anniversary of Brighton Fringe, making it a doubly special occasion for the city’s cultural calendar. Tickets are still available and can be purchased HERE
Dan Langasco, Chairman of Brighton Gay Men’s Chorus, commented: “As we celebrate 20 years of music, community, and pride, we’re honoured to partner with a charity that embodies the same values we hold dear.
“Lunch Positive is a lifeline for so many in our community, and we’re thrilled to support their important work. We look forward to a meaningful year of collaboration, visibility, and fundraising.”
