Brighton Box Gallery to raffle framed photo of legendary performer Miss Jason for the Sussex Beacon

The team at the Brighton Box Gallery in Brighton have announced a delightful framed photo of legendary drag performer and community champion Miss Jason, who we sadly lost earlier this year, is being raffled, with all proceeds being donated to local HIV charity, the Sussex Beacon.

The photo, created by Brighton & Hove-based photographer Simon Pepper, beautifully captures the alter ego of Jason Sutton, who was a much-loved patron and friend of the Beacon.

The raffle will be drawn at the Grosvenor Bar, 6 Western Street, Hove, BN1 2PG on Sunday, August 11 at 9pm. Tickets: £5 a strip from Brighton Box Gallery, 21 Dukles Lane, Brighton, BN1 2PG or call 01273 722 036.

The Sussex Beacon said: “Our warmest thanks to Sean at the Brighton Box Gallery, Simon Pepper, and Mike at the Grosvenor Bar for this touching tribute to Jason and support of the Sussex Beacon.”

Support independent LGBTQ+ journalism

Scene was founded in Brighton in 1993, at a time when news stories about Pride protests were considered radical.

Since then, Scene has remained proudly independent, building a platform for queer voices. Every subscription helps us to report on the stories that matter to LGBTQ+ people across the UK and beyond.

Your support funds our journalists and contributes to Pride Community Foundation’s grant-making and policy work.
