Bridlington Pride 2026 cancelled amid rising costs

Bridlington Pride organisers have announced the cancellation of the 2026 event, citing sharply rising costs and an inability to secure the funding required to proceed.

In a statement, the team said it was “a post that we hoped we’d never have to put out”, confirming that the financial pressures affecting events nationwide had made this year’s Pride impossible to deliver.

One of the most significant increases was the cost of hiring Bridlington Spa. The venue, which cost £3,600 in 2022, was quoted at £15,500 for 2026 - more than a fourfold rise. Organisers also explored the possibility of holding only the parade, but even this scaled‑back option carried an estimated cost of around £1,500, a sum still beyond reach.

The team expressed deep disappointment at the decision, acknowledging the importance of Bridlington Pride to those who attend each year. They added that they will “try our hardest to bring back the event in 2027”.
