Bridgerton actor Jonathan Bailey has been announced as JustGiving‘s Celebrity Fundraiser of the Year after raising an incredible £33,452 for LGBTQ+ youth charity Just Like Us, of which is patron!
“If Just Like Us were around when I was at school, it would have been a lot easier and I would’ve had a joyful time” shared Jonathan who ran the Hackney Half Marathon for the charity, which works with thousands of schools and young people right across the UK to make sure everyone know that being LGBTQ+ is something to be celebrated.
Jonathan added: “I’ve met some of their young ambassadors who go into schools, talking about their personal journeys with coming out, allyship and helping stop bullying. They inspired me to become a patron of this wonderful charity.
“Just Like Us is doing vital work to make sure young people no longer grow up feeling ashamed of being lesbian, gay, bisexual or trans.”
Just Like Us added: “Jonathan’s passion for making a difference has been truly inspiring, and we’re thrilled to have him as a patron of our charity and celebrate his incredible achievement!”
