Brighton UK 21st December 2017 – Thousands take part in the annual Burning the Clocks procession through the streets of Brighton to celebrate the winter solstice . Burning the Clocks is a community event held on the 21st of December created by Same Sky arts group to mark the shortest day of the year. Local people make their own paper and willow lanterns which they parade through the city before being put on a bonfire on the beach. Photograph taken by Simon Dack
