Anti-porn and LGBTQ+ Republican Josh Schriver alleged to have account on site known for live sex webcams

A Michigan state legislator who has championed a sweeping ban on pornography is facing allegations of hypocrisy after cybersecurity data reportedly linked him to an account on a well-known adult webcam and dating website.
Josh Schriver, a Republican representing Northern Oakland County, recently introduced House Bill 4938 - dubbed the “Anticorruption of Public Morals Act” - which seeks to criminalise the distribution of any sexual content, including written, animated, or digitally generated material. The bill would impose severe penalties, including up to 25 years in prison and fines of up to $125,000 for violators.
However, reports from The Detroit Metro Times and other outlets claim Schriver had an account on Fling.com, a site known for explicit content and live sex webcams. The account, allegedly created when Schriver was 18, was linked to his personal AOL email address and included sexual preferences such as “fetish” and “groupsex.” The data, verified by cybersecurity database SnusBase, shows the account was last accessed in 2010.
Schriver, now 33, has denied the allegations, calling the reports “fake” and “forged”. Despite his denial, the same email and password combination appear in multiple other data breaches, including MySpace.
The controversy adds to a growing list of contentious moves by Schriver, who earlier this year introduced a resolution urging the U.S. Supreme Court to overturn its 2015 ruling legalising same-sex marriage. He has also advocated for banning gender-affirming care and hormonal birth control.
