Allsorts Youth Project, a Sussex-based LGBTQ+ youth charity, has been chosen as the beneficiary charity for the 2025 Brighton & Hove Rainbow Run, a 5km charity run organised by Brighton & Hove FrontRunners, a social running group for LGBTQ+ people.
Established in 1999, Allsorts supports LGBTQ+ young people, and parents and carers of LGBTQ+ children. One vital element of the charity's work is providing additional support and activities for young people during the summer period when schools, colleges, and universities break for the summer.
According to Allsorts, this is a time when young people may lose touch with their regular support networks and communities, so the charity increases the amount of activities on offer to help keep them engaged, happy, and safe over the summer.
Allsorts’ Senior Practitioner for Education & Youth, Alice, who organises the Summer Activity Programme, said: “It’s amazing to be benefiting from the fundraising from Brighton & Hove Rainbow Run this year. We are so grateful for this, as it enables us to deliver a vital activity programme for our young people over the summer.
"We know for many, these activities keep them happy, engaged, and connected, which is so important for their mental health and wellbeing at a time when many of them can feel more vulnerable without their usual routines and support networks”
If you want to support Allsorts in some way, you could sign up and take part in the Rainbow Run on 1 August, or if that’s not for you, there is merchandise on the website, with all profits going to Allsorts.

Ben Dew, Training & Education Manager and Parent & Carer Service Manager at Allsorts, will be running the 5km Brighton & Hove Rainbow Run for Allsorts, sponsor him here.
