Hardcore Rave Therapy, which runs trans-centred raves in Brighton, and Sweat, Brighton’s queer hyper pop party, raised a fantastic £785 for FiveForFive, a collective fund for transfem causes and people in the UK, on Saturday, September 7 at Komedia Brighton.
Komedia, which hosted the fundraising event to honour late trans pop star SOPHIE, said: “Events like this where we can help create a safe space for the trans and wider LGBTQ+ community are SO important to us at Komedia.
“We’re so grateful to be able to collaborate with all the brilliant promoters, DJs and artists across the community.
“And the night of back to back Sophie bangers was an added bonus.”

Support independent LGBTQ+ journalism
Scene was founded in Brighton in 1993, at a time when news stories about Pride protests were considered radical. Since then, Scene has remained proudly independent, building a platform for queer voices. Every subscription helps us to report on the stories that matter to LGBTQ+ people across the UK and beyond.
Your support funds our journalists and contributes to Pride Community Foundation’s grant-making and policy work.
