Community organisations in Brighton & Hove can apply now to get between £500 and £5,000 in council grants to fund projects for young people aged 11 to 19 (or up to 25 with special educational needs).
Brighton & Hove City Council (BHCC) is seeking bids that offer positive activities for young people, using traditional youth work approaches. These approaches will:
The total funding available is £80,000.
Councillor Hannah Clare, chair of the BHCC’s Children, Young People and Skills committee, said: “We’ve very deliberately put young people at the centre of this bidding process because these projects will above all need to work for them.
“Young people came up with the criteria that the projects need to meet. They will also lead on deciding how the funding is allocated.”

These groups can help with your application and will then submit it on your behalf. Their contact details can be found within the guidance document.
If you would like to discuss your proposal to gain advice or support you will need to have contacted your chosen Lead Youth Provider by Wednesday, June 1.
They can then help you with your application and submit it to the council by the deadline of Wednesday, June 8. Your project should aim to be ready to start from July 2022.
All applications must be signed by three young people and a worker from the organisation bidding for funding and their chosen Lead Youth provider.
