The Irrepressibles announce Yo Homo Deluxe album plus liberating new single What I Am, Queer!

Fresh off the explosive acclaim of their fourth studio album Yo Homo, praised as “a milestone in queer indie rock” and “a love letter to the openness surrounding sexuality”-Jamie Irrepressible and his boundary-pushing band The Irrepressibles return with Yo Homo Deluxe, dropping 29 August 2025 via Of Naked Design Records.

A bold new chapter in their fearless exploration of queer identity and sonic experimentation is just around the corner. Ready to dive back in? I know I am.

This new edition of Yo Homo expands the sonic and emotional scope of what has already been called “one of the most innovative and influential albums of today’s landscape” adding new tracks and alternate versions that deepen the record’s radical celebration of queerness, sensuality and emotional truth.

Ahead of its release on the 29th August, the deluxe edition will be teased with three brand-new singles. The first is obviously What I Am, Queer!-a fierce, unapologetic anthem that champions queer self-love and empathy. It’s the perfect addition to your Brighton Pride playlist.

Back to What I Am! Queer though-Jamie said "It’s about the acceptance of the truth”.

A call for a future beyond tolerance-where empathy and compassion are the answer. As the song says, it’s time we all see that freedom is for everyone.

Written, composed, and produced by Jamie, Yo Homo marked a bold shift in tone for The Irrepressibles-one that fused erotic energy with symphonic beauty and punk-rooted fire.

I wanted to make a record specifically for the queer community, to create a safe space where people feel they are being expressed.

Building on earlier works like In This Shirt and Two Men in Love, this new era is more direct, more sexual, and more urgent than ever. Songs like Ecstasy Homosexuality, Be Wild, and Will You channel raw desire and emotional honesty into music that spans indie-rock, post-punk, chamber pop, and queer nightlife soundscapes.
