The Brighton & Hove Anti-Hate Crime Vigil is on Saturday, October 18.

Brighton & Hove Hate Crime Vigil

THE VIGIL takes place near the fountain on Old Steine at 7pm and will be opened by the Rev. Michael Hydes.

The Brighton & Hove Anti-Hate Crime Vigil is organised by the Brighton & Hove Community Safety Forum (LGBT CSF) and simultaneous vigils will take place in cities all over the country to mark the three nail bomb attacks that rocked London on April 17, 24 and 30 in 1999.

Music will be provided by Brighton Gay Men’s Chorus and warm drinks will be provided by the THT outreach service.

There will be covered areas with places to sit and relax if the weather is bad.

The LGBT CSF is an independent community forum of volunteers working with the community to address and improve safety issues throughout Brighton & Hove.

Support independent LGBTQ+ journalism

Scene was founded in Brighton in 1993, at a time when news stories about Pride protests were considered radical.

Since then, Scene has remained proudly independent, building a platform for queer voices. Every subscription helps us to report on the stories that matter to LGBTQ+ people across the UK and beyond.

Your support funds our journalists and contributes to Pride Community Foundation’s grant-making and policy work.
