LGBT Switchboard have recruited a new CEO who will start work at the organisation on March 20. Daniel Cheesman is presently Director of Brighton, Hove & District Samaritans and has extensive experience of working in the voluntary sector.
Samaritans say forget Blue Monday, have a ‘Brew Monday’
January gets some bad press, home as it is to huge credit card bills, failed fitness programmes, broken New Year’s resolutions, cold weather and what’s known as ‘Blue Monday’, the day that has been dubbed the most depressing day of the year, which falls on Monday, January 16 this year.

Samaritans the suicide prevention charity challenges everyone in the UK to become better listeners. To help people improve their listening skills, Brighton, Hove and District Samaritans will be taking a stall at Trans Pride at Brunswick Terrace on Saturday, July 23.

Samaritans in Brighton and Hove are turning what’s become known as Blue Monday on January 18 into Happy Monday, by encouraging people to become volunteers.
