Hot off the heels of his high-octane, irresistibly tongue-in-cheek debut single Je Ne Sais Quoi, rising pop provocateur Stan Pratt returns with a bold new offering.

Channelling his sharp intellect and theatrical flair, the self-confessed "Pop Girlie Boy” dives head first into the world of addictive personalities on his dramatic, synth-soaked sophomore track, Dopamine Beast which is out on all music streaming platforms today!

The London-based producer, multi-instrumentalist, neuroscientist, and alt-pop riser said "When I was studying neuroscience at university, addiction was the topic that absolutely captivated me-I even focused on it for my final year project. But that was all from this biochemical, scientific perspective."

"With Dopamine Beast, I wanted to flip that completely and explore addiction from the human side, getting inside someone's head and really feeling what drives them to it.”

Continuing, Stan explained “We all have our own version of this dopamine monster, you know? It doesn't have to be extreme substance addiction-it could be your phone, social media, shopping, whatever makes you feel like you're not fully in control of your own decisions. That's what makes these lyrics more universally relatable than you'd think, because we've all felt that pull toward something that gives us that hit but also leaves us feeling a bit ashamed afterwards.”

Neurology aside, Stan is here to bring maximalist pop with an alternative edge: think Chappell Roan and MARINA meet New Order and Daft Punk-all through a self-produced, hyper-stylised lens of the world around him.

"For me, songwriting and producing have always gone hand-in-hand. When I get stuck into a track, it's like time doesn't exist while I'm working on it. I just find it so incredibly satisfying to build it from a raw idea to the polished finished product."

I don't think any male artists right now are doing anything quite as fun and campy.

Stan’s love of making music runs deep. He began producing music on GarageBand at the age of nine, while growing up in a musical family that introduced him to a wide range of genres, including synthpop, alternative rock and progressive rock. However, he was always determined to carve out his own sonic path.

Before stepping out solo, Stan came a little closer to is arena tour fantasy when he and best friend Macy formed Outline.

The duo released two EPs and a string of standalone singles, including the streaming smash Grape Vapour.

Stan recently launched his solo era though, with a glitter-filled, utterly captivating single release party at Hackney’s Paper Dress Vintage.

Playing with a full band is something that gives him the confidence and support he needs to engage with the audience and move around freely. "When I think about performing my songs live, it gives me the biggest goosebumps," Stan remarks, "I also love the idea of my songs sounding different because I have my band playing with me."

With his affinity for 80s fashion and production sound, it's fitting that his cover of Bronski Beat's Smalltown Boy took off, garnering more than 426K views. "I love that whole era, but it's also a great pop song," he says.

Stan's fanbase has been growing rapidly thanks to a flurry of exceptional live shows, festival appearances including The Alternative Escape in Brighton and a strong presence on TikTok.
