P/REVIEW: Fundraising song from The Color Purple
Brian Butler listens to a fundraising song to raise your spirits

West End stars Marisha Wallace, Wendy Mae Brown, Cavin Cornwall, Tyrone Huntley and Hugh Maynard have reunited with the British Theatre Academy (BTA) ensemble from their critically acclaimed production of “ The Color Purple In Concert “ to record the title song on video as a fundraiser for the Academy.
The BTA offers free and affordable theatre opportunities to young performers. Donations will provide free bursary places at the Academy , with an emphasis on places for young artists with a Black, Asian or Minority Ethnic background .

The original concert was staged at the Cadogan Hall in 2017. This extract is directed by Danielle Tarento, with musical direction by James Taylor.
I watched the short video and Marisha has a soaring, electrifying voice and passion to match and it’s a few minutes that will lift your spirits and all in a good cause. Please donate.
