Just one week to go until Brighton is United in Pride, literally this time next week-only 7 more sleeps!

To help count down here’s an official Scene x Brighton Pride playlist to stream on Spotify-YAY.

Your soundtrack for PRIDE ON THE PARK!

Pride began as a powerful protest-a declaration of visibility and resilience from the queer community fighting for LGBTQ+ rights.

The UK’s first ever Pride march took place in London on the 1st July 1972, deliberately timed to align with the anniversary of the Stonewall Inn uprising in 1969, where the LGBTQ+ community stood up against police oppression in New York. That spirit of defiance sparked a global movement, with Pride events now celebrated annually across the UK and beyond.

As part of Brighton’s 2025 United in Pride celebrations, a powerful new exhibition explores over six decades of local LGBTQ+ history.

Created by United in Pride and Brighton Pride, it chronicles the journey from criminalisation and silence to today’s vibrant landscape of activism, celebration, and unapologetic pride.

Brighton and Hove has long been a beating heart of LGBTQ+ activism-it's even where Scene's 'From the Heart of LGBTQ+ Living' slogan was born!

From the early days of the Sussex Gay Liberation Front to hosting the UK’s biggest and most inclusive Pride celebrations, this city continues to lead with love, defiance, and fierce community spirit.

Brighton Pride stands tall as a beacon of solidarity, while Trans Pride now brings thousands together in joyful protest each year.

You can catch the exhibition at Jubilee Library on Jubilee Street, running until 17th August. Pop by before Pride, after Pride-whenever you feel like it huns. Click HERE for more details.

✨Pride is a time to celebrate✨

Pride isn't Pride without a fabulous soundtrack. The best LGBTQ+ anthems for Pride by queer musicians and allies can be any genre, there's basically a song for everyone.

The Scene x Brighton Pride playlist includes the full lineup of Pride On The Park and showcases artists across the LGBTQ+ spectrum including allies, icons, rising stars, and those breaking all the musical rules. Every song is a celebration.

Mariah Carey, the legendary diva (and indisputable Queen of Christmas), one of the greatest voices and songwriters of all time and the best-selling female artist of all time, is headlining Brighton Pride in Preston Park.

NEXT SATURDAY.🤯

Even though I saw her back in 2019 at the Royal Albert Hall on the Caution World Tour, I’m pretty sure seeing the Elusive Chanteuse in Preston Park will leave me totally starstruck all over again. There’s just something magical just thinking about Mimi at Pride!

Mariah is obviously best known for her powerhouse vocals and timeless hits like We Belong Together, Hero, Fantasy, Touch My Body, Honey and Vision of Love and will bring glamour, emotion, and fierce allyship to the stage.

Mariah was set to hit Preston Park back in 2020, but then COVID swiped the mic. Now, her grand return is way overdue and this. lamb. can't. wait!

Sugababes are set to finish Pride next Sunday night and....I’m Shook.

Mutya, Keisha and Siobhan will of course bring their signature blend of soulful pop and edgy R&B. Expect classics like Overload, Hole In The Head, and Push the Button and new music.

I'm quite sure they'll perform Shook, Weeds and Jungle, I hope so anyway! Oh and....In The Middle?!🥹

Loreen, twice crowned Eurovision royalty, is pure performance power delivering mesmerising vocals and spine-tingling stage magic every time she steps up.

Her smash hit Euphoria didn’t just win hearts, it claimed its spot as a bona fide Pride anthem.

Whether she’s floating in smoke and strobe lights or commanding attention with raw vocals, Loreen’s presence is nothing short of spellbinding. Her music pulses with Pride spirit-haunting, hopeful, and gloriously unapologetic.

Slayyyter is a rising star in hyperpop and unapologetic and so campy, honestly she's PERFECT for Pride!

Miss Belladonna is one of the most exciting voices in progressive pop right now and her STARFUCKER album was criminally slept on, it’s a no-skip masterpiece and she really levelled up as an artist on this album IMPO, it was and still is a masterpiece, (what an album title btw ha), it's literally bop after bop and she doesn’t hold back like at all.

I'm manifesting Throatzilla, Clouds, Troubled Paradise and BFF, Celebrity and Daddy AF.

Dorian Electra will be perfoming as part of the False Idols-curated dance tent-a nod to queer club culture and expressive individuality.

Known for their genre-defying sound and flamboyant visuals, Electra is guaranteed to bring a bold, boundary-pushing energy.

Will Young is making his Brighton Pride debut and it's about time!

Will has earned his place as a cherished name in UK pop-and let’s not forget the moment he stripped down in the All The Songs video. Truly, what a gift that was.

Natalie Imbruglia, known for stunning tracks like Torn and Shiver, is set to add a dose of nostalgia and effortless vocal charm to the lineup.

Jack McNamara is a Brighton-based DJ who’s become a staple of the city’s vibrant LGBTQ+ nightlife.

Jack has residencies at iconic venues like Revenge-Brighton's #1 LGBTQ+ gay bar and nightclub and Bulldog-Brighton's longest running gay pub-and has built a reputation for curating euphoric dance floors filled with joy, unity and pure escapism.

Ultra Naté is an icon who helped shape the sound of queer nightlife across decades.

Whether you’re on the front row or dancing at the back, expect a fierce reminder that freedom really is everything. Free is a 90s queer anthem that still sets dancefloors ablaze.

Confidence Man always bring high energy joy!

Hailing from Australia, they’re known for turning gigs into full-blown party spectacles. Conman have so many catchy lyrics, cheeky choreography, and a vibe that screams care free celebration.

ANYWAY! This is only a tiny sneak peek of the lineup-but don't worry, you can dive into the full playlist head first right now! Click HERE-curated by Scene’s resident pop aficionado Dale Melita (yes, that’s me😇) for the new Scene Spotify page. Give us a follow, and we’ll return the love!

The Community Parade kicks off Saturday morning from Hove Lawns to Preston Park and this year’s theme is Ravishing Rage-a celebration of resilience, passion, and unity.

The Pride Street Party will be held along Marine Parade for the first time ever, bringing the best national and local talent with over 50 performances and more than 100 performers across three stages on Saturday alone, it’s set to be big! Featuring drag stars like Danny Beard, Tayce, and Jaguar and there will be themed zones and outdoor bars creating a seafront celebration like no other.

Are you excited for Brighton Pride? Are you going to Preston Park or just the street party? Are you hardcore and celebrating on both days or just one day or not decided yet? What's your ultimate favourite Pride anthem?
