MindOut, the Brighton and Hove based LGBT mental health project are looking for people to run the half marathon in Brighton on Sunday, February 22 to raise funds for the project.

MINDOUT IS an award winning, project providing mental health services in East Sussex and a national online peer support service. It is run by and for LGB&T people with experience of mental health issues.

Jason Saw, MindOut’s Team Leader, who is himself running said: “At MindOut we are proud of the team spirit and camaraderie we create for our runners. Advice on training and fitness is offered and we ensure that we support the people who run for us.
“Sponsorship raised is a key part of our funding each year and I’m looking forward to welcoming new runners to our team to help us reach our target of £20,000.
“Running in an event like this can be an enormous personal achievement as well as an opportunity to support MindOut’s existing mental health services.”

Support independent LGBTQ+ journalism
Scene was founded in Brighton in 1993, at a time when news stories about Pride protests were considered radical. Since then, Scene has remained proudly independent, building a platform for queer voices. Every subscription helps us to report on the stories that matter to LGBTQ+ people across the UK and beyond.
Your support funds our journalists and contributes to Pride Community Foundation’s grant-making and policy work.
