March of the Mermaids returns
Mermaids set to appear on Brighton Seafront on Saturday, July 23. Mermaids, mermen, sea creatures and seafaring folk of all kinds will once invading the shores of Brighton this July, to celebrate our seas and sea life and to raise funds for the World Cetacean Alliance.

Mermaids, mermen, sea creatures and seafaring folk of all kinds will once invading the shores of Brighton this July, to celebrate our seas and sea life and to raise funds for the World Cetacean Alliance.
March of the Mermaids sees participants take part in a colourful cavalcade along Hove and Brighton seafront, the event is run in collaboration with Brighton based organisation, WhaleFest.
March of the Mermaids is not just for mermaids! Mermen, sea mammals, crustaceans, pirates, sailors and all land lovers are invited to take part – It’s a day out for all the family.
We are always looking out for our favourite costumes of the day, so dress to shrimpress!
The Mermaid Mini Fayre will kick off proceedings on Hove Lawns (by the Peace Statue) from 11am on July 23.
There will be face-painting, The Ghost Net Challenge, ghost net bracelet weaving, banner painting, stalls, installations, live music and more – bring a picnic too!
The parade will commence at 3pm and end at 4.15pm at the after-party venue Patterns, where there will be a family friendly after-party until 6.30pm, with a costume pageant and prizes awarded for the favourite children’s costumes and have music from the Sophisticated Mischief DJs and The Captain’s Beard, so get ready to jig yer fins off!
Tickets for the parade, which includes entry to the after-party are £4, but are FREE for under 12s. You can buy tickets in advance at Skiddle or on the day.
