Simon has been a strong supporter of this issue which he feels very strongly about, and has raised the matter regularly with Ministers at the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs.

After the Bill was heard today, Simon said: “I was pleased to be in the Chamber today to see the Ten Minute Rule Bill being introduced, in particular as I have been a strong supporter of banning the use of wild animals in circuses.

“I will continue to press the Government to introduce this ban, and to bring the UK’s legislation over this topic into line with many other European nations.”
