Following recent speculation over possible amendments to the Hunting Act 2004, Mr Kirby has assured his constituents that he will stand by his pledge to oppose any attempts to repeal the legislation.

He said: “I have repeatedly promised my constituents that I would not vote to repeal the Hunting Act 2004. I take all of my promises very seriously, and so I can assure people in Brighton Kemptown and Peacehaven that my position will not change.

“I will also oppose any efforts to try to bring back hunting with dogs through the back door.

“I would urge constituents who share my feelings on this issue to get in touch with me, so that I am able to demonstrate how strongly people in Brighton Kemptown and Peacehaven feel about upholding the hunting ban.”
