Simon said: “I am encouraging all residents to take part in the consultation to make their views known to the Council who will decide on this application.”

The Kemptown MP has previously set out his vision for development in the city, saying the Council should focus much more on brownfield sites, city centre sites and increasing student accommodation at Falmer to increase the availability of housing and free up family homes in the city. He has consistently opposed large scale developments on green land at places like Meadow Vale and Falmer Avenue in Saltdean.

Simon said: “I am all for development where it is appropriate. However it can’t be a case of development at all costs and the Council should protect our precious green spaces.”
