The International Gay & Lesbian Travel Association (IGLTA) has announced its new board of directors. The group includes three tourism professionals who will serve the association membership for the first time and a returning industry leader who last served on the board in 2001.

THE group includes three tourism professionals who will serve the association membership for the first time and a returning industry leader who last served on the board in 2001.
Appointments include: • Jody Cole: Founder and owner of the tour company Wild Rainbow African Safaris • Norma Dean: Director, National Specialty Sales, Delta Air Lines • Richard Gray: Managing Director LGBT Market, Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention and Visitors Bureau, who previously served on the board from 1993-2001 • Jon Muñoz: Senior Director, Diversity and Inclusion, Hilton Worldwide • Rika Jean-François: Commissioner of Corporate Social Responsibility at ITB Berlin/LGBT segment for ITB • Tom Jenkins: Executive Director, European Tour Operators Association (ETOA) • Juan Julia: President of Axel Hotels • Dan Melesurgo: Vice President, Strategic Partnerships, American Society of Association Executives (ASAE); and • Ed Salvato: Editor in chief of ManAboutWorld
The new board will take effect at the end of the board meeting prior to IGLTA’s 32nd Annual Global Convention, in Los Angeles, from April 8 to 11.
These nine appointees will join: • Marta Dalla Chiesa: Co-owner/managing director of Brazil Ecojourneys • Tanya Churchmuch: Founder of MuchPR • Michael McDowell: Vice President for Arts and Culture and Affinity Markets for the Los Angeles Tourism and Convention Board • Andy Mosetti: Founder of the travel agency NEXTSKY • Chris Stanley: Corporate and Incentive Sales Account Director for Silversea Cruises; and • John Tanzella: IGLTA President/CEO (ex officio) on the 2015-2016 IGLTA board of directors.
The International Gay & Lesbian Travel Association is the leading member-based global organisation dedicated to LGBT tourism and an Affiliate Member of the United Nations World Tourism Organization. The association’s membership includes LGBT and LGBT-friendly accommodations, destinations, service providers, travel agents, tour operators, events and travel media in 80 countries.
